Laine Carver
Senior Associate Attorney
A small-town Wisconsin native with a strong business background, Laine Carver brings sound legal strategy to the farms, family businesses, and rural enterprises that make our communities thrive. Growing up in Benton and now practicing law in Darlington, Dodgeville, and Cuba City, Laine understands the values, challenges, and opportunities of agricultural life and the rural economy.
Laine earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration-Finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School. This blend of financial insight and legal expertise allows him to serve farmers, landowners, and rural business owners with clarity and confidence.
Laine regularly advises agricultural clients on legal matters that intersect with business operations, including:
-
Business Law for Farm & Ag Enterprises: Helping farmers, family-owned agribusinesses, and rural companies with entity selection, operating agreements, contracts, compliance, and generational business transfers — keeping operations running smoothly so owners can focus on production and growth.
-
Commercial & Civil Litigation: Representing clients in disputes involving contracts, land use, business obligations, and other civil matters.
-
Real Estate & Land-Related Matters: Supporting farmers and landowners in transactions, boundary issues, and property disputes that affect farm operations and long-term land stewardship.
-
Probate & Trust Issues Impacting Farm Families: Helping rural families navigate estate administration and trust disputes — especially when agricultural assets, land, and long-held family property are involved.
Laine grew up in Benton and remains deeply connected to Southwest Wisconsin. He knows firsthand the importance of strong local businesses, thriving farms, and resilient rural families — and he’s committed to supporting the people behind them.
Licensed to practice in Wisconsin, Laine works closely with farmers, landowners, and small business owners throughout the region — providing trusted legal counsel grounded in rural values and years of business and litigation experience.
